Shiro Kashiba is a three-time James Beard Award nominee for Outstanding Chef with over 50 years of sushi mastery. Called the 'Sushi Sensei of Seattle' by the Seattle Times, he is widely credited as the grandfather of Seattle sushi, having trained most of the city's acclaimed sushi chefs.
